An unforgettable Enduro tour across the hidden and inaccessible trails of the Supramonte and the Gennargentu.
3 days of fun, genuine traditional food, hospitality and nature in Barbagia, in the heart of Sardinia.
Day 1: The trails of Barbagia
Day 1: Departure at 10:00. We will slowly start riding and warming up, as we get to know the territory of Barbagia. We will ride all morning across trails and dirt roads in the territory of Orgosolo, where there have been various world rally championships and more recently some of the most popular and appreciated motorbike cavalcades in Sardinia.
It’s a mixed route, with some guided parts and some hard variants (optional). We will return to Orgosolo at 13:30 for lunch. After an hour lunch break we will follow the tracks of Orgosolo’s motorbike cavalcades until we reach the “Fundales” area, at the foot of the Supramonte.
In this area, you can face some infinite and steep firebreaks and from the peaks you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the whole of Barbagia. Late afternoon we will return to Orgosolo facing some technical and challenging shepherd trails.
Day 2: Gennargentu
Day 2: on day 2 we will head towards the Gennargentu, the highest mountain massif in Sardinia. We will then head to some of the massif’s peaks, enjoying breathtaking views of Sardinia.
We will face trails with different terrains when heading to the peaks, however most are stone (fixed stone or loose stone) terrain. This day will be challenging but suitable for all riders.
Day 3: The Supramonte
Day 3: on day 3 we will visit one of most famous and impressive areas of Sardinia: the Supramonte. We will depart from Orgosolo first thing in the morning and we will visit the untouchable limestone massif where bandits and shepherds used to live until a few decades ago.
In the Supramonte you can visit many key elements of Sardinia’s history, like old sheepfolds that belonged to the “Su Pinnetti” shepherds of Orgosolo, vertical karst chasms that are hundreds of metres deep (“Su Disterru”) and “S’elihe Tureddu”, the famous oak tree that grows inside a huge stone.
Late afternoon we will return to Orgosolo, tired but satisfied after visiting one of the most beautiful areas of Sardinia. We will return to Orgosolo a little earlier so you can pack and get your motorbike ready, so you can leave for the port bidding “farewell” to Sardinia.
The tour will be based on the famous tourist village of Orgosolo, 20 km from Nuoro. The nearest port is in Olbia about 115 km (1 hour and 10 by car) while the one in Golfo Aranci is about 130 km.
The nearest airport is Olbia (110km), then Alghero and Cagliari. Orgosolo can still be reached in a maximum of two hours from all Sardinian ports and airports.
On this tour, every evening back to Orgosolo to the same accommodation.
